“The Gorilla and the StormThe sky turned black in the middle of the day.
Winds howled. Trees bent like twigs. Thunder cracked the sky. In a small village, people ran for shelter, but the storm moved faster than fear.
Amid the chaos, a little boy named Sami, just 5 years old, got separated from his parents. The roof of their house had flown away like paper. Sami tried to run, but a falling tree blocked his way.
He tripped, cried, and covered his ears.
Then, everything went silent.
When Sami opened his eyes, the storm had passed—but everything was broken. Houses were gone. Roads were mud. And he was alone.
He wandered into the edge of the forest, calling for his mother.
Suddenly, a giant shadow appeared behind the trees.
Sami turned in fear. A massive gorilla, nearly twice the size of a man, stood still, watching him. Its eyes weren’t angry—they were soft. The gorilla slowly walked forward and offered a hand.
Sami, though scared, took it.
The gorilla picked him up gently and walked deeper into the forest. It wasn’t just any gorilla—it was wise and kind, almost human. They reached a hidden clearing where leaves made a dry bed and fallen coconuts lay scattered.
The gorilla built a fire using sticks and stones.
Sami watched, wide-eyed.
Then the gorilla cooked food—roasted bananas and sweet fruit mash—and fed Sami with care.
That night, Sami slept in the gorilla’s arms, safe under the stars, wrapped in warmth and kindness.
In the morning, the gorilla brought out something surprising—an old, tiny bicycle made of wood and vines. It had two seats.
The gorilla sat behind and motioned Sami to ride in front. Sami giggled.
They rode slowly through the jungle paths, crossing rivers, birds flying above, monkeys swinging around. Sami laughed like he hadn’t since the storm.
Finally, they reached a rescue camp. People gasped as they saw the child arrive—with a gorilla.
Sami’s mother ran forward, tears streaming. “Sami!”
He jumped into her arms. She hugged him tight and looked up to thank the gorilla.
But the gorilla had already turned around, walking quietly back into the jungle, never looking back.
Sami waved with tears in his eyes. “Bye, friend…”
To this day, he tells the story of the gorilla who saved his life. Some believe it. Some don't. But Sami knows.
